Dr. Jaimish Gajjar (MS, FMAS, FIAGES) is a newer generation of dynamic Advanced Laparoscopic & Gastro Surgeon, with nearly a decade of experience in the surgical field. His primary area of interest is Advanced Laparoscopy and Gastro Surgery.
He completed his MBBS and Masters (MS) from the Smt. NHL Medical College (V. S. Hospital) in 2004. Following which he did fellowship in Surgical Oncology at the renowned Gujarat Cancer Research Institute (GCRI), Ahmedabad.
He has undergone various fellowships and training in field of Advanced Laparoscopy and Minimal Access Surgery. Few noteworthy of them are:
2010 – Fellowships in Minimal Access from AMASI (Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India)
2011 – Fellowship in Minimal Access from IAGES (Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endo Surgeons).
2011 - Clinical Fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopy, Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery at Max Superspeciality Hospital, New Delhi under Dr. Pradeep Chowbey. Max Hospital is an International Center of Excellence for Bariatric, Metabolic and Minimal access surgery in Asia. At Max he had a comprehensive training in advanced laparoscopic and bariatric surgery with ethical & protocol based management.
2013 - Hands on Training in Bariatric Surgery at Apollo Hospitals, Chennai, a field which has a bright future and one which he aims at developing himself at.
Apart from this he frequently attends various international and national conferences and workshops to keep upgrading the surgical skills and staying updated in the latest developments in the surgical field. He is also active at organizational level having held the position of Zonal Representative, Ahmedabad of Gujarat State Association (GSSA) for two consecutive years – 2011 to 2013. He is also credited for successfully organizing State Level Annual Surgical Conference – JBH CSE 2012 on Obstructive Jaundice. He is also a core member of the organizing team of ASICON 2013, Ahmedabad and various other state and national conferences.
He started his career in 2004 by joining B. J. Medical College & Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad as Assistant Professor of Surgery. Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad is the largest hospital in Asia, with largest amount of Surgical Work in India. He has a wide experience of operating and dealing with variety of cases from all over the state. During this period at B. J. Medical College he had an experience of dealing with more than 5000 major and minor surgeries. He has successfully dealt with trauma, gastro surgery and complicated surgeries at Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad in the last 8 years with a special interest in advanced laparoscopy and minimal access.
Currently he is also attached to Gujarat Cancer Society Medical College, Ahmedabad as Associate Professor of Surgery. With his love for academic update and sharing of the knowledge and experience it gives him an opportunity to teach the upcoming generation of doctors and surgeons. He is actively involved in teaching of Undergraduates and Post Graduates in the field of Surgery.
He is also a visiting Consultant at Aarna Superspeciality Hospital (AASH), Paldi, Saviour Hospital, Stadium.
His motto is to provide best of the surgical care with compassion and honesty, and to serve the society with faith in god. The GOD and the society has given us all, lots of opportunities to grow and build our careers and fulfill our ambitions.
